JUNE 2018

I am currently developing a compilation eBook edition of The Outer Worlds and Rise of the Exile.

After many delays and a lengthy editing process I am happy to announce the publication of my two-part science fiction series. The Outer Worlds and Rise of the Exile are currently available at Apple iBooks, Amazon, Smashwords, Kobo, Barnes and Noble, and other online retailers. Print copies and a single volume special edition will be available soon at Amazon.

Ecorian: The Complete Veredor Chronicles in paperback. This is a special edition of my fantasy series.

The Veredor Chronicles trilogy and The Guide to Veredor are now available individually as paperbacks.

Every book has been revised and updated as of September 2015.

Click here to purchase this book at the Createspace online store.

I have recently completed a significant revision of The Gate and Beyond. The paperback version includes all recent updates. The revisions should gradually flow through to the ebook version at different online stores over the coming weeks.

At this time The Guide to Veredor is combined with ebook version of The Gate and Beyond: Book Three of the Veredor Chronicles. The Guide to Veredor and The Gate and Beyond can be bought separately as paperbacks.

Publishing at Smashwords and Kindle Direct Publishing can be a very rewarding experience. I released my first three books on the 3rd of December 2013 and I have been very pleased with the overall reception. My novels have also been near the top of several important charts. In March 2014 The Journey West reached as high as 13th on the iBooks USA Scifi/Fantasy chart and 7th on the same chart in the UK. The Gate and Beyond had similar success.  Both of these books have also been on the top 100 Amazon Australia and UK epic fantasy lists. The Sword of Light at one time was ranked 7th overall for all books on the iBooks USA store. Independent publishing has many technical challenges. Editing, cover art and marketing are probably the most difficult obstacles facing authors who choose to work alone; however, the above results clearly show that independent authors can make a way for themselves in the modern publishing world. I highly recommend independent publishing to all aspiring authors.

It's difficult to publish an ebook in American English and British English because of the worldwide nature of ebook publishing and distribution. I use a mixture of British and Australian English which includes the use of single quotation marks for dialogue and word differences like honour instead of honor.

I appreciate reviews and feedback. Thank you if you have posted a review. If you have any feedback or comments please feel free to contact me at mail@ejgilmour.com

Here is a link to a blog page where I have posted every map of Veredor for those who are interested.

Will there be a sequel to The Veredor Chronicles?

I started to write about the journey of one of the main characters after the end of The Gate and Beyond. This book has been on the shelf for quite some time because my focus has been on completing my two science fiction books.

Will you continue The Epherian Chronicles?

Writing science fiction takes me a lot more time than writing fantasy. I am working on a short story about Ivan and what happened to him before he joined the crew of the Out Dirfter, but I haven't yet made a plan to write a full length novel. However, writing a story about Sara's adventures is an appealing idea.

Will your novels be available as audio books?

Yes, but only when the ACX publishing platform becomes available to Australian authors.

Are you an indie/self published author?

Yes. I chose not to send my books to traditional publishing companies. I like to be independent, and I have complete creative control over my work. The sales results up until now have proven to me that this was the right decision. I mostly work alone with the assistance of some dedicated supporters who help to edit and proofread my books. I also promote my books through various online channels and affiliates.

Do you recommend indie/self publishing?

Absolutely! I use and recommend Smashwords, Kindle Direct Publishing and Createspace.

Will there be a sequel to Kaloren?

I definitely plan to write a sequel to Kaloren in the future. Kaloren was my first completed novel, and the first draft was written back in 1996 which was long before I started writing The Veredor Chronicles.

Where are you from?

I am an Australian of Scottish, Irish and English descent.
